Phoenix Bikes believes that the opportunity to serve community members and work in an active business environment provide great value to our youth participants. We also believe that recycling bicycles to provide affordable bikes and repairs is integral to the D.C. region's transportation infrastructure, giving low cost, low environmental impact options to current and potential cyclists. Revenue from Sales & Service also pays the rent! (plus staff salaries, equipment costs, ride snacks, etc.) We do our best to serve all who find their way to our door and strive to create a welcoming supportive and participatory environment, but please understand that shop hours and service is sometimes limited by the needs of our youth participants and programs.
Bike Sales

Phoenix Bikes refurbishes donated bikes and returns them to the street. Youth Mechanics and volunteers do whatever's necessary to bring bikes back from the ashes and get them ready for your ride. Phoenix staff safety check each bike.
Our goal is to have 8 - 12 bicycles ready to ride each week. However, many times we sell out by Saturday afternoon. When visiting, bear in mind that our selection changes each week! We will do our best to keep our Bikes for Sale list updated. All bike sales are first come first serve - we are unable to reserve specific bikes.
Our promise: If you buy a bike from Phoenix, we want to keep it (and you) on the road. All workmanship is guaranteed. However, since bikes are used and your riding ability is iffy, we are unable to warranty bike components. Don't hesitate to ask questions when you are buying, and if you encounter a problem with your bike, give us a call or stop by.

Frames, "as is" bikes, shifters, brakes lever, headsets, bins of hubs, pedals, etc.. While we have parts divided by category, we don't inventory used bike parts. If you need something specific, feel free to give us a call and ask if we've seen it - but you may need to come in and root through yourself!

We are a full service shop. That old ten-speed in the garage may have a lot of miles left on it. Whether its just a noisy chain, loose brake or a full overhaul, Phoenix's stable of staff and youth mechanics can take care of it. Due to limited space, we are unable to accommodate all tune-up requests all the time, but you can call us to check in, or stop by for a quick tune or assessment! (price list coming soon!)

We take donations of bicycles and parts during all open hours:
